Hello!

Well, I've finally done it...launched myself into the wonderful world of blogging!! I've just got too much inside ready to bubble over and my hubby's sick of listening to me! I have to admit that the whole blog thing makes me a little nervous. How much of this is actually talking to other people or just talking to myself?  I guess if millions of people are out there talking to themselves then nobody will notice when I do it, right?

My theme is the "Romantic Mom" which applies to enjoying the simple pleasures in life and just taking things day by day, moment by moment. I focus on the family and marriage, homeschooling, homesteading, creativity, and living out the Christian walk with steadfastness, perseverance, and HOPE. I started a book on this topic, but that won't be out for awhile, so why not start where I can now! I go into more explanation (because I don't want people getting the wrong idea--in the event anyone does read this) under "The Romantic Mom" topic, so please check that out. These various endeavors can simply compliment one another and offer some inspiration, suggestions, and encouragement along the way....

This is my place to totally be me--and that definitely includes the fact that my heart belongs to Jesus Christ--the two things are inseparable and will come through in all the areas of my life. That's what I'm striving for anyway and only through His work and grace in my life will it ever happen!! Although I do have strong opinions or convictions in these areas, I'm not a preachy-type, so if anyone's interested on my journey back to the Christian faith in my later years, please check out my blogs relating to those areas.

I've been married now for almost 10 years and my husband, Andrew, and I have 4 wonderful children. My dear hubby is a watchmaker and also has  a site here. We moved to Maine from the Dallas metro 3 years ago for a radical lifestyle change--which is what we got! We have 40 acres and are in the very slow process of building our own log home. We have 3 bunnies and a pony named Babycakes. I could go on and on, but you can learn more about our adventures as a family starting over in Maine under the different topics.  I'll eventually write a blog to get it more consolidated, but that's a future project!

Please feel free to share with me if any of these topics speak to your heart or interest!

Blessings! Debbie

P.S. There has been some advertising that has popped up here and has gotten me all flustered and embarrassed. Why is that the internet seems to freeze up when you try to click off that stuff--or a child walks into the room at that precise moment..."what are you looking at, Mommy?" Please forgive me for any offensive advertising that pops up on this site, I didn't do it. It's not Romantic Mom stuff, I promise! I have already complained to this network and will continue to do so, if it keeps up. I also have blog sites on Blogger and Christian Blogger and provide the links. However these other sites are not as user-friendly as this one and have far less features. So I've chosen to leave it here for now.
